Welcome to the Season of Do It Scared!
This month, Messy Artists are focusing on making art when you don't have it all figured out.
”An artistic endeavour comes into the world naked, unnamed, and vulnerable. Every creative effort requires the artist to wrest something from nothingness, a purposive cosmos from an apparently indifferent chaos” - Peter London
This month you'll be learning from Vanessa Oliver-Lloyd, Shawn Petite, and Mona Schreibt.
✨️ Tried it, Hated/Loved it! with Vanessa: Failed attempts in art lead us to the best places because they invite us to work with what we have.
✨️ Showing up with Shawn: Show up for yourself and soul filled play in your journal. No plan, no overthinking, no fear.
✨️ Venturing with Mona: Use your art journal as a compass to navigate through confusion, self-doubt, and creative blocks.
Vanessa is a Canadian artist living abroad. She creates spaces for like-minded creatives to explore archetypes, art witchery and the self. Using her knowledge from her work as an archaeologist, she leads communal spaces to explore art and dig deep into ourselves at the same time.
Mona, the face behind "monaschreibt", is 40 years old and lives near Munich, Germany. She is a mixedmedia artjournal artist and free lance interior designer. Mona always loved to design, paint and create but artjournaling is her favourite way to spend her arttime and free her mind.
Shawn Petite Has been teaching and creating for over 25 years in many different mediums but found her at soul mate in mixed media. She produces her own line of stencils, creates soulful and informatiave online workshops and sells her originals , prints and products at shawnpetite.com.But most importantly, Shawn tries everyday to encourage, uplift and give meaning to our everyday lives throught the creative process and with her paint brush leave her little corner of the world a better place.
Zero expectations. Zero pressure. All the fun.
